DataBank shifts focus to US market, sells French data centre assets

DataBank, a prominent provider of enterprise-grade edge colocation, interconnection, and managed services, has officially closed the sale of its five data centres in France, operating under the name “zColo France SAS,” to Etix Everywhere, a significant player in the European and Asian edge data centre sector. DataBank originally acquired these French data centres as part of the zColo transaction in 2020.

With the successful conclusion of this transaction, DataBank is now able to channel its undivided attention towards its primary U.S. market. This market is serviced by an extensive network of more than 65 facilities spread across 27 diverse markets.

“We are glad to complete the sale of our French assets to Etix Everywhere, and have our French customers and employees join a platform extremely focused on the European market,” said Raul Martynek, DataBank’s CEO. “Now, we’ll be able to target our capital and resources on deepening our US portfolio to meet the increasing demand for data centre capacity that has been unleashed by artificial intelligence applications.”

DataBank assists the world’s largest enterprises, technology companies, and content providers in ensuring that their data and applications remain consistently operational, secure, compliant, and adaptable to the demands of the artificial intelligence era.

Their extensive edge colocation and infrastructure network comprises over 65 ‘HPC-ready’ data centres spanning across 27 diverse markets. Additionally, they have established 20 interconnection hubs and offer on-ramps to an extensive ecosystem of cloud providers, providing virtually limitless connectivity options.
