Digita Oy to construct a new data centre in Helsinki

Digita Oy, a Finnish tower operator, said it plans to make a significant investment in its data centre business through the construction of a new data centre in Helsinki. The new data centre is due for completion by 2023 and will be located in the immediate vicinity of the company’s current data centre facilities.

The company runs a portfolio of tower sites to support TV and radio broadcasters and telecom mobile network operators while also providing colocation services from its facilities, offering 364 square metres out of the Pasila Broadcasting Tower on the media campus of national broadcaster Yleisradio Oy.

“Demand for Digita’s data centre services has remained strong, and we have now decided to expand our business by building new facilities in the Pasila telecommunications cluster. The facilities will be completed in early 2023,” Markus Ala-Hautala, COO for Digita Oy, said. “Our customers appreciate the location of our data centres at the epicentre of data communications, as well as our customer-oriented, reliable, and agile way of operating. We are extremely pleased to be able to offer facilities to new operators.”
