GLP, a leading global business builder, developer, owner and operator of logistics real estate, data centres and renewable energy, has officially introduced Ada Infrastructure, a new global data centre business rooted in a mission to wield a positive influence on technology, humanity, and the environment.
Catering to the digital infrastructure requirements of major hyperscale corporations and large international enterprises, Ada Infrastructure commences its operations with a robust 850 megawatts (MW) of secured IT capacity spread across key locations in Japan, the United Kingdom, and Brazil. Additionally, the company has ambitious plans, with an impressive 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of future capacity in the pipeline.
Heading Ada Infrastructure is Jennifer Weitzel, formerly an executive at Microsoft, who has meticulously assembled a team of industry experts to meet the surging demand for hyperscale data centres in strategic locations around the world. Under Ada Infrastructure, this team is poised to facilitate the rapid expansion of cloud services and artificial intelligence in a manner that prioritises safety, security, and sustainability.
“Like our namesake, Ada Lovelace, considered the world’s first computer programmer, we believe in technology’s potential to benefit society, an idea she described as ‘poetical science’,” said Weitzel. “In this spirit, we are committed to meeting the ever-growing capacity needs of the world’s most transformative companies, while making a positive impact on communities and the planet. We are building a company that customers want to work with and employees want to work for, not just now, but for years to come. This also means investing in the communities in which we work and live – creating and fostering equitable access to economic and social opportunities.”
The Ada Infrastructure team is fully committed to ensuring that data centre customers have access to capacity precisely when and where they require it. Leveraging GLP’s extensive global footprint and specialised regional knowledge, Ada Infrastructure possesses the capability to swiftly pinpoint and secure sites in critical, high-demand markets. Additionally, Ada has formulated a forward-looking global design playbook, incorporating adaptable features that can readily accommodate emerging technologies aimed at enhancing efficiency and performance.
“Data centres play a critical role in making the modern world run more efficiently and are where some of the world’s biggest challenges are being solved,” said Ming Mei, co-founder and CEO of GLP. “Scientific discoveries, medical advancements, communication systems, new and more accessible financial services, global commerce, and now the AI revolution are all made possible within data centres. With Ada, we are proud to be a part of the future of digital infrastructure while also serving our communities and planet.”
