The objective is to promote innovative solutions that improve efficiency and sustainability while exploring new opportunities in order to lead the way at a global level by leveraging both partners’ services and products in various fields, such as the construction and operation of data centres.
NTT DATA’s technology capabilities will accelerate the digitalisation of Ferrovial in all its markets and will be applied to a diversified portfolio of projects, such as toll management systems on its toll roads. NTT DATA will act as Ferrovial’s technology partner, focusing on growth in North America.
Moreover, as part of the agreement, NTT DATA will also establish a Centre of Excellence in Digital Solutions for transport and energy infrastructures in Spain that will apply the most advanced digital solutions to address the sector’s current challenges.
The centre will be instrumental in driving and co-developing Ferrovial’s global projects from Spain; it will address asset management, improve business planning tools, and develop solutions for operating energy infrastructures in a way that advances sustainability.
“The creation of the first centre of excellence of its kind in the world, here in Spain, hinges on combining the two groups’ complementary capabilities. From this unique initiative in Madrid, we will develop innovative solutions that will put us at the forefront of our industry,” said Dimitris Bountolos, Information and Innovation Officer (CIIO) at Ferrovial.
Ferrovial’s application of these solutions goes beyond enhancing its own processes. The experience gained from implementing them in the company’s projects will catalyse technological advancements in the broader industry, contributing to its development.
“The synergies with Ferrovial will enable us apply all our tech expertise in the infrastructure and transportation industry, which has a major impact on developments in other industries. Driving the digital transformation in this industry provides benefits at all levels, both in organisations and in society at large,” says Sergi Biosca, CEO of NTT DATA Spain.
According to Noriyuki Kaya, Chief Digital Assets Officer at NTT DATA, Inc., “This agreement is strategic for the NTT DATA Group because it is a tangible example of how we can combine the transversality of an international group and our end-to-end capabilities with Ferrovial’s solid commitment to innovation and digitalisation as vectors of growth at a global level”.
