Submer has announced a partnership with ITRenew to combine their expertise to deliver cost-effective, high-performance technical solutions to the cloud and edge industry. Powered by Submer’s immersion cooling technology and Sesame by ITRenew’s integrated compute and storage solutions, customers will be able to deploy full turnkey systems in as little as four weeks and benefit from industry leading TCO, efficiency, and sustainability.
The impact of the partnership
The complete solution will directly address data center operators’ sustainability and power concerns by providing on-demand deployment of cost-effective, flexible, high-performance infrastructure that scales efficiently and accelerates growth. It will also enable them to meet growing demand from AI, edge computing and other data-intense workloads, while simultaneously reducing energy consumption, e-waste and their carbon footprint. Users will be able to run highly dense compute environments that are 33 per cent more energy efficient, deliver an average 50 per cent total cost of ownership advantage and avoid up to 75 per cent of the carbon emissions tied to traditional OEM manufacturing. And, for the first time, to open the door to recapture the heat generated by IT hardware and leverage it to power local municipalities, other businesses or sell back into the grid.
“The partnership is a perfect example of what great things can happen when two companies join together to tackle an industry-wide problem,” Daniel pope, CEO and co-founder of Submer, said.
“By combining submer’s smartpod technology with the sesame by ITRenew platform, customers can rest-assured that they are investing in technology that will future-proof their datacenters for years to come.”
Ali Fenn, President of ITRenew added that both ITRenew and Submer are committed to making profitable, sustainable, and environmentally responsible data center growth practical for their customers. “The combination of sesame systems and submer’s immersion cooling technology gives them on-demand access to cost-effective solutions purpose-built to deliver best-in class performance while minimizing both the operational and embodied carbon impact of datacenters and it equipment,” she concluded.
Submer’s technology powered by Immersion Cooling, combined with Sesame by ITRenew’s integrated rack-scale solutions, is the first complete immersion-cooled data center infrastructure solution to be based on Open Compute Project (OCP) hardware. It will be published as a sustainability solution on the OCP Marketplace as a ready-to-use solution, further evidence of its promise of superior performance, flexibility, reliability, and sustainability.
“Submer and ITRenew are showcasing how OCP members can collaborate in an open community to deliver impactful solutions at scale,” Steve Helvie, VP of channel for the Open Compute Project (OCP), continued. “Submer’s smartpods utilising sesame by itrenew compute and storage hardware, offer enterprises a highly efficient solution which also dramatically reduces the embodied carbon. This is a growing concern as density and workloads increase across the core data center as well as edge environments. It’s exciting to see our first immersion solution listed on the OCP Marketplace and we are hoping to see more integrated solutions from this partnership in the near future.”
Submer’s SmartPod technology has been purpose built to empower users to effortlessly scale their operations while simultaneously saving space and energy and increasing compute capacity. The SmartPod range is compact, with >100kW dissipation capacity and a 1.03 PUE. Accommodating 21” Open Compute and/or 19” HW and a flexible busbar system supporting multi-zone 12v & 48v configurations.
Sesame by ITRenew high-density compute and storage solutions are built for cloud-native workloads, optimized for converged infrastructure, and can be configured to handle demanding workloads at any capacity. This flexible, building-block approach makes it easier, faster, and more cost-efficient than ever to deploy and scale high-performance infrastructure.
