Earth, Wind & Power (EWP), a leading Norwegian innovator in transforming excess energy into green data centre services, has announced that it has signed a collaboration agreement with OiLSERV, one of the largest regional independent fully integrated Oilfield Services Companies in the MENA region and headquartered in the UAE.
The agreement covers the territories of Kuwait, Iraq, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates. The technology solution harnesses excess energy to power ‘off-grid’ modular, scalable data centre infrastructures to support High Performance Computing (HPC), and other data centre services, which is key to driving the digitalisation ecosystem such as big data, data mining, AI and the Internet of Things (IoT).
EWPs’ modular data centre containers are powered by capturing excess energy from flare gas and renewable sources, with zero impact to existing grid infrastructure.
The combined Energy Transition Technology solution allows both private and institutional stakeholders to harness that excess energy, and to either facilitate their own domestic cloud capacity or to simply monetise their excess gas by selling HPC data processing to generate an additional revenue stream. EWPs’ data centre services also offer Governments a higher level of increased homeland security by
facilitating domestic data centre clouds and associated services.
“We are delighted to have signed this exclusive collaboration agreement with OiLSERV, which marks another significant milestone on our journey. MENA is an important region for us given the size of the market and scale of opportunity to support improved energy usage and the continuing growth in demand for data centre services. We look forward to working with the team at OiLSERV to grow the partnership going forward,” said Ingvil Smines Tybring-Gjedde, CEO and co-founder of Earth Wind &
Power.
“OiLSERV’s Production & Energy Solutions business line has expanded and diversified its portfolio over the last 12 months to provide strategic energy transition technology solutions. We are delighted to have signed this exclusive collaboration agreement with Earth, Wind & Power, to provide emissions management solutions that are modular, scalable, provide speed to market and that encapsulates and supports both the energy transition and digitalisation ecosystem. This, coupled with our Project Financing solutions, allows us to be well positioned in the MENA region to support the Energy Transition Initiatives, especially on the backdrop of COP27 and COP28. We look forward to working with the team at Earth, Wind & Power to grow this partnership,” said Donal Dempsey, EVP – Production & Energy Solutions and Chairman ESG Committee at OiLSERV.
