Amid rapid digital growth and the soaring demand in the Middle East region for high-quality data centre colocation, data centre developer and operator, Serverfarm, have announced the development of ISR1, its first hyperscale facility in Israel.
Developed in partnership with the Israel Infrastructure Fund, ISR1 is located in central Israel. This new facility, which Serverfarm claims will be modern, secure and highly efficient, hopes to rapidly bring 9MW of critical capacity to Israel’s accelerating digital economy in the latter half of 2022.
ISR1 is the first Middle East-based facility and venture for Serverfarm, whose global data center portfolio and operations span over 700 locations in 45 countries, including locations in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Canada and the United States. The company is no stranger to the region, however, as Serverfarm and its principals have extensive local, regional and international real estate development experience, specialising in the hotel and residential real estate and data centre markets.
Dubbed the Silicon Valley of the Middle East, Israel is poised for exponential data centre growth, thanks to its high-tech enterprise progress coupled with newly announced hyperscale cloud zones. Designed to enable next-generation technologies and accelerate digital transformation, ISR1 promises to be the premier data centre, and joins other world-leading brands across this digitally focused Israeli market.
In parallel with the development of ISR1, Serverfarm is actively developing additional opportunities to further expand its footprint in Israel and across the Middle East.
“As leading tech and hyperscale organisations continue to expand into Israel and across the Middle East, we see an opportunity to leverage our expertise and deep roots in this region,” said Avner Papouchado, founder and CEO of Serverfarm.
“With the launch of ISR1, we are bringing world-class multi-tenant data centres to Israel, allowing organisations to rapidly tap into this growing region and innovate at scale. We are also introducing our world-leading InCommand DMaaS to the region, so more IT and data centre leaders can optimise their operations, and focus on innovation and digital transformation.”
Serverfarm’s InCommand data centre management solution is an award-winning cloud-based platform that offers a fully integrated service, overseen and operated by trained experts in data centre infrastructure and management. It provides client with remote access into their mission-critical infrastructure and centre centre assets, while also offering consolidated alerts and alarms to streamline intelligent prioritisation and resolution tracking.
