ST Telemedia Global Data Centres recently released its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report for 2022. showcasing the company’s progress towards its ESG objectives, focusing on three key pillars: Carbon-Neutral Data Centre Operations by 2030, a Safe, Secure, Diverse, and Inclusive Workplace, and Ethical & Responsible Business practises.
Few highlights are:
Environmental Impact: STT GDC has achieved a 52% usage of carbon-free electricity across its operations, marking a 9% improvement year-on-year. The company has increased its utilisation of renewable energy in Singapore to 84 GWh. Over 30% of waste generated has been successfully diverted from landfills through recycling efforts. Furthermore, 44% of STT GDC’s Data Centres have been certified as Green Buildings under recognised national or international programmes.
Social Impact: As part of their continuous improvement programme, all operating entities have achieved certification against the rigorous requirements of ISO 45001. Out of the total recorded construction and operations hours, which amount to 13.7 million, zero work-related serious injuries were reported, resulting in a total recordable incident rate of 0.15.
Responsible Business Practises: The company maintains a zero-tolerance policy for bribery, kickbacks, and corruption. In addition, STT GDC has launched its Supplier Code of Conduct, aiming to strengthen relationships with like-minded supply chain partners.
