Dr Sarah Josephine Smith

Senior Scientific Engineering Associate

Lawrence Berkeley National Lab

Dr Sarah Josephine Smith specialises in energy use modelling across end-use, customer, and industry-wide scales, economic modelling of energy technologies and systems, and system optimisation. She led the modelling for the 2016 US Data Center Energy Use Report that has served as the key source for describing energy use in data centres over the last decade. Her research also includes estimating demand response potential across electricity-using sectors and end-uses and battery cost, manufacturing, and supply chain analyses.
