Matthias’ background is in Mechanical Engineering, he holds a Bachelor and Master degree from ETH Zurich and completed his thesis at UC Berkley. Before founding AiSight, Matthias moved to Berlin to join the Porsche Digital Lab, where he held the positions of Lab Scientist IoT & Topic Owner IoT. During this time he realized that maintenance strategies still face many shortcomings. The knowledge he gained in the field of IoT made him understand that there was a great opportunity for new maintenance solutions. That’s what inspired him to find AiSight in July 2018.
