As the focus on environmental sustainability gathers momentum in the data centre sector, there are obvious opportunities for data centre owners and operators to generate significant additional revenues by supporting utility demand response programmes. Remarkably, when approached with the appropriate combination of power system assets, demand response results in a reduction in CO2emissions and millions of dollars in additional revenue. In this presentation Ed Ansett discusses the broad array of demand response schemes that are suitable for data centre participation, and quantifies the additional revenue potential for data centres.
