Digital infrastructure providers and investors have significant opportunities as well as some challenges to overcome when it comes to growth and development in the APAC region. Sustainable solutions will be required and indeed demanded by users and authorities, while the standard of service - reliability, uptime, latency, security, etc. - are becoming increasingly important. This overview provides insight into what the main opportunities and challenges are and what sorts of solutions are available and indeed necessary to support the digital economy in this region, arguably the world leader in digital innovations and adoption.
Connectivity allowing for data traffic, along with compute and storage, underpins digital development. In this presentation we consider the nature and capacity of connectivity across the diverse APAC region and analyse how this impacts the maturity of the digital economy. As we become increasingly dependent on digital technologies at personal and professional levels, from a public and enterprise perspective as well, we look at the role connectivity plays in sustainability solutions in Asia Pacific markets.
Before diving into individual markets, we take a high level view of the energy mix across APAC as it currently stands, evaluate it's level of sustainability and its impact on the environment and climate. We consider challenges to changing it up in favour of greener sources and what it will take to get to "acceptable" levels of carbon impact. Looking forward, we consider an optimistic outlook and the steps it will take to get there, as well as what's actually planned and projected.
