When looking to expand its presence in the region, Microsoft, the world’s largest software company, choose Sweden for its new data centers. Behind the decision lies Sweden’s strong commitment to sustainability, as well as Microsoft’s will to foster the growing demand for cloud and internet services in the Nordics, and in Europe. Microsoft’s entry consists of three new data centers, now under construction in the cities of Gävle and Sandviken, two hours north of Stockholm, and Staffanstorp, an hour from Copenhagen.
